NBA 2006 Begins

Ball is on this Thursday, let me know who is coming. Mike and Temo, are you guys going to show this week? Terence has been trash talking all week about how many threes he plans to drop on your heads...

Random thoughts:

- Lakers open tonight in Denver. Taking bets on how many panties will be waving in baseline seats when Kobe shoots free throws.

- Milwaukee looked good on highlights last night. Who is TJ Ford and didn't he have a broken back last year?

- First coach to get canned will be Brian Hill of Orlando. I can't believe they brought him back - he was horrendous when he was with the Grizzlies. Granted, he was stuck with Big Country at center and a bunch of third stringers for starters but I blame Hill for 20 losses each year with his lousy play calling.

- Since we don't have the Grizz anymore, UBC T-Birds are the only game in town. Pasha Bains dropped 41 last Friday in Calgary against the Dinos. Anyone interested in catching next UBC home game?

If this doesn't get the e-mails flying, you guys must be in a coma.

    - Lakers will take their first step towards 50 wins tonight. Look for a big game from Kwame Brown, and Kobe to dominate in the 4th quarter. Also, Smush Parker will make you all think twice about all the Smush Parker jokes. Lakers 104 Denver 100.

    - Yes the Bucks did look solid last night. Very balanced and under control; love the additons of Bobby Simmons and Magloire. TJ Ford made Iverson pick up his underwear on more than one occasion last night, and Bogut was mistake free the whole night. On the other hand, how long before Webber's knee give out or he calls a time out he doesn't have?

    - Look for a big year from Cleveland - all eyes are on Lebron and Larry Hughes.

    - I'm down for a UBC game.

don't even know what's going on in the NBA anymore... EXCEPT:

    - Webber is washed up... Forget about Philly.

    - The Lakers suck... I'm not even going to go into how many reasons there are that they suck, just leave it at: Kobe's a shitty leader and they'll never win the championship without a legit bigman. Mihm is not legit. 50 wins...? I'll take that bet, Rents.

    - GO BUCKS

    - Somebody tell me how the Heat can possibly NOT win the NBA championship. With J Will, Wade, Shaq, Posey, Payton, Simien, and Mourning, they've got all the pieces... Look for Wade to lead the league in scoring. Look for the Heat to beat up on the Lakers in all their head to head meetings.

    - Raptors could be the worst team in the league.

I'm down for the UBC game!

WHY are we talking about the lakers at all? they are not even LA's best team!! its all about the east this year.

Levine ..not a bad call with Miami. not sure about j will tho".watch shaq wipe his ass with kobe. kobe is an ass man...ask all the white chicks in colorado.

cleveland looks good....watch lebron to pull up for the threes this year (4 in a row tonight).

love michael redd and tj ford....lit it up against vince carter ..that little bitch.

i'll put it all on the line however....PISTONS..welcome to the wallace show.

    wish i was there...instead i'm getting fat

    Alright boys - some observations:

    - 1 win down 49 to go

    - Play of the game (outside of Kobe hitting the game winner - no surprise) is a tie: Smush Parker putting Andre Miller in a poster, and Kobe with breakaway blocks on Voshon Leonard and Marcus Camby.

    - After the first game I have questions with Kwame's hands (are his fingers stitched together?) and Odoms ability to hit a shot (2 for 13?). Smush Parker was exceptional, Devean George played well, and Mihm's gotta learn how to defend the lob pass.

    - Is it me or does Carmelo act more like a little punk ass bitch all the time? It seems to me that he could be heading for Cedric Ceballos territory.

    Other thoughts:

    - Yes Indiana is going to be very good this year - and in fact (sorry Alex) they will be better than the Heat. Watch for them to take Detroit or Cleveland out in the Eastern conference finals. Also, this team will be all about Sarunas Jasikavicious (sp) by the end of the season. You heard it here, he is going to be their answer to Manu Ginobli.

    - Speaking of the Heat - any team with J Will, Toine, and Gary Payton, will have chemistry problems - Dwade is a player, but Shaq is fat, and Zo only has one good kidney. The heat will finish behind Indiana, Detroit, and Cleveland in the East.

    - Now for someone that can really write about basketball - and make you fall out of your seat laughing here's a link to Bill Simmons NBA Preview - the stuff on the Knicks and Isiah are truly hilarious....

I am in for this week, hopefully I will not be sleepwalking like I was last week, as for the rest of the trash talking...don't even get me started.

LAKERS SUCK, they USED to be a dynasty, now they may as well make a reality show out of the team, I have never heard so much drama coming from one team, ever. Actually they probably can't even get an audience to watch them on a reality show, they may as well hire "Tattoo" and call it Fantasy Island, because you've got to be in fantasy land to think that they are going to win
50, the only landmark statistic that they will accomplish this year is not making the playoffs AGAIN, since 1976, making it two years in a row, Kobe may as well be taking golf lessons cuz he will be on the course in the spring.

Alex is right, Kobe sucks as a leader, leaders are born, not bought
my friends... and they paid a lot for nothing, just take a look at last year. Lakers suck!

As for a UBC game, I am in. Plus everyone keep in mind that there will be an ABA exhibition game played here in January. I can get us all tickets when the time gets closer. Also there will be an ABA team here in Vancouver in the near future. That is why the game is being played in January to help
    promote this.
