Riles is Back

Saw the news on Pat Riley replacing Van Gundy. This was the worst kept secret since the summer. Can Riles really turn this team around and motivate Shaq-Daddy? I heard he is a slave-driver coach, running his teams so hard that guys like James Worthy had their careers cut short by injuries.

Out like Van Gundy sibling,
Vincent

Riley in......hmmmmm. As for Big Game James, he ran out of hookers to take to his hotel room, so he figured a jump to the CBC Sunday Basketball broadcasting team in 1993 ish was an excellent career move.

Riley expects discipline in his professionals. He may have mellowed in his old age. Have to wait and see on this one.

    Stan Van "Ron Jeremy" Gundy:

I think this is a great move for the Heat and will either make or break them. This team is loaded with talent but lacks work ethic and decipline. Riley will bring both of these things in a hurry. He will run them to death in practice and force them to play some D - rather than relying on Wade to out score the other team.

Their season will depend on Shaq - and his ability to put some effort forth. It's ironic that Shaq was the one that wanted Ron Jeremy out, and Riley in, but it will be him that will be getting most of the attention in practice. It looks like he is back on the Krispy Kreme diet and unless he gets in playing shape - he will likely be plagued with injuries for the rest of the year. Shaq likes to talk tough, but when he is pushed he typically cries and whines. Riley will push him like never before, and force him to work harder than ever before - will Shaq respond, or will Shaq get injured again and eat more donuts? This will be the difference between the NBA finals and a 2nd round playoff loss for the Heat.
