Laker Fan #1 Writes from London

Boys:

First off I'm adding Alex to this as I know how much he hates Kobe.

Having tons of trouble getting any basketball over here - all they care about is World Cup (Rooney broke his foot - so everyone is freaking out).

I saw that the Lakers got game 5 handed to them. A sign of a young team. But you all know that they have the true MVP and game 6 is in the bag. A Lakers Clippers series will be one of the all time greats.

What is up with Kwame being set up with this sexual assault charge? Just like Kobe, the Man is always trying to keep a brother down.

Anyways thanks to all of you - and I mean all of you that said Kobe sucked and the Lakers would do nothing this year - for coming around and seeing that they are what they are. A young talented team with some growing pains, but also with the best coach and player in the game. It's not eating crow when you admit reality. Way to drop yer pants and grab your ankles like real men.

Now onto game 6 and a second round match up of historic proportions. Gotta love this game! - even from London. I'm off to Amsterdam on Friday - so you may not hear from me for about 4-7 years.

Cheers
T

  1. T and all,

    - World Cup is religion over there. I was in London UK recently, and they are fanatics about the game. In Italy, there is an entire newspaper just devoted to Italian league football.

    - I caught the game last night and the Lakers looked distracted. Nash was brilliant, and finally, Diaw cranked his intensity up a notch. I think the problem with the Suns is that they are not used to playoff intensity as most of their players are quite young as well. If Diaw can bring it again in Game 6, and say Eddie House or Barbosa get hot, then look out for Game 7.

    - Kwame should keep his hands off the pootie.

    - Even though I am rooting for Nashie's Suns, I have to admit I would love to watch a Clips-Lakers series. Kaman will play Kwame even, Brand will destroy Odom, Cutino will keep Kobe under control, Sam-I-Am will school Smush. Corey Maggette coming off the bench will single-handedly dismantle the Lakers second stringers. On top of this, Mike Dunleavy will have payback on his mind after his Blazers lost in Game 7 back in 2000. Nice season Phil, but I don't think we will hear about the Yellow and Gold after the second round.

    - This has to be the most exciting opening round of NBA playoffs in recent memory. Bonzie Wells playing like a monster, Wiz-Cavs going toe to toe, Miami disintegrating against the Bulls, and Disco Dirk doing his thing in Dallas. I am running out of VHS tapes, need to get a hard drive recorder.

    Gentlemen,

I am not going to send my hot crow back to the cook just yet. I have a feeling I'm not entirely done eating it.

Missed the damn Suns game. I had VCR taping the Heat game and naturally
assumed, albeit incorrectly, that the same station had the Suns game!!!

Gary Payton should tone it down with Wade. He is one step away from
severely pissing off "the franchise, Mr. D. Wade". Watching Payton
argue on court with Wade makes me think that Payton is not sure of what
decade he is in, what team he is with and his current level of ability.
Anyway, Chicago looks real good for the future. Nice guard rotation.
Heat will win, but look slow and ripe for the picking by Detroit.

I have no input on the Suns game, having not seen it. I will bask in the great feeling of the win, but believe it may be short lived. Have to agree with Vince about this being one hell of an opening round.

what is up with the lakers....if someone clothelined my star player i would be up in arms. remember laimbeer vs. bird, new york vs.jordan...kobe may be a star but nobody likes him. not even his mates. they are all soft.

with regards to kwame...he took his definition of consenting from kobe's dictionary.
