Round Table this Week

No more skanky web links, please. Dump on Kobe all you like, but there is no place for Brittney, Jessica, or Eva on the blog.

- What's up with the injury bug? I have three players on my KBL team out with ankle sprains, and now KB is out as well. T, how many games?

- Read somewhere that Bynum had some spat with Phil? Is he going to turn into a Kwame? Trade bait: Bynum for Garnett.

- Nash rocks, did you see highlights last night against Sac-town? He carved them up with 20 dimes.

- Zack Randolph is a monster in the paint. Reminds me of Sunday when I had to guard Chris Porteous. Dude comes right at you in the post on drives, and has a knack for angling his body to the hoop. By the way, Porteous has 40 lbs and 4 inches on me.

See you all tonight, I think Kev Trott is coming out as well.

    Vinny:

    KB:
He will play with some limited minutes tonight - and they will win easily against an overmanned Hornets team. I think they are missing Peja, Dmase, and someone else. The Lakers will carve them up - but don't look for a huge game from Mamba. He's saving it for Friday - when the Spurs come to town. This will be a true test for them and the 3rd statement game for them this season (the first two were against Utah - one tight loss and one blowout win).

    Bynum:
He showed up late for practice and got an earfull from the Zen master. I don't think you can pull that type of thing when you are only 19 years old. But have faith - he will be a solid 20-10 guy in this league for years to come.

    Nash and the Suns:
I've seen pretty much all the best teams play this season (Mavs, Spurs, Suns, Utah, Lakers, Detroit, Houston, Magic) - and they are the most impressive. I think I have seen 5 out of their last 7 games and they are just on fire right now. These guys put up 41 (yes 41) points in the 1st Q versus (a not terrible) Sacto last night. If it is possible, Nash is actually playing better this year than last (see the 20 assists in 3 Qs last night), Marion is so solid and is an absolute guaranteed double double - plus he (at 6'9") guards the other teams PG!!!, Bell is one of the top SG defenders in the league and is money from deep, Diaw has lost weight and his passing and all around skills finally fit perfectly with......Amare! Who is (believe me when I say this) getting scary, freakish good again. He's looking more and more like the guy that put 42pts and 16rbs on Duncan in the West conference finals. He's had 6 straight double doubles, and in each game has had at least one monster throw down on someones head. From the bench throw in Barbosa, who is another atheltic freak and can take two strides from half court and get to the rim, Kurt Thomas who adds muscles and fouls to guard the Duncans and Garnetts of the world, James Jones (plays D and shoots), and Jalen Rose (the Fab Fives last chance for a ring).

This team is deep - scores like Warren Beatty in the mid 1970s and - and are lead by 3 of the top 1o players (Nash, Marion, Amare) in the league. One last note on this team and why I'm absolutely obsessed with them - they are sooo fun to watch - up and and down, getting (quality) shots up in 7 seconds, crazy dunks, deep threes, and insane passing. I would pay to watch them play on TV.

    Zach Randolph:
He's a premier PF in the league and I am glad he lost some weight. He was starting to looking like Weezie from Old School (my one obsure reference of the day).

See you boys tonight - lets make it a good run!

Saw the Suns game last night as well. Nash - Barbosa was sick. Barbosa got hacked on at least 4 pin point dimes, so Nash should have had an even higher assist total. Marion is just a man on a pogo stick. Amare's throw down on Kenny Thomas in the first quarter was a return to old. It looked like a pick up run at Moody park. Ridiculously wide open layups. Even the guys up at Moody will hack the crap out of you.

Poor Bibby being guarded by Marion....bet he didn't enjoy that much.

    See yah tonight.
